Rachelle Bitterman recently retired from the Albany Araa Chamber of Commerce after 16 years as director of communications where she was in charge of marketing and communications for the Chamber as well as the Albany Convention & Visitors Bureau and the Albany-Dougherty Economic Development Commission. During her tenure she helped develop a successful “shop local” program and Albany Dougherty Days at the State Capital showcasing Southwest Georgia and all its amenities. She was also in charge of developing and implementing the Chamber’s website and all marketing materials. Prior to her Chamber days, Rachelle and her husband Alan owned men’s retail clothing stores and a breakfast/lunch restaurant. An avid cyclist, Rachelle is vice president of the Pecan City Pedalers and vice president of Flint River Trails Inc.  Rachelle has been married to Alan, an avid cyclist, for 48 years. They have one son, Brad who is also an avid cyclist, two granddaughters, Ella and Lily and a wonderful daughter-in-law Kim.
